...to help in the fight to find a cure for the debilitating disease of Breast Cancer and help those that for one reason or another need a helping hand.

Why do we do it?
To try to understand what drives us and others want to help so much please read this open letter from one of the founders of our organization, Bob Elder. Save One Life.

Who We Are....

The seeds of From Our Hearts, inc. began three years ago with an effort to raise funds for a local resident to participate in a three day, sixty mile Breast Cancer Walk.   What started as a few local musicians playing at Island Hardware in St. James City and passing the hat slowly progressed into the First Annual Pine Island Breast Cancer Benefit.  The community was so supportive by donating time, door prizes and artwork that it seemed natural to make it an annual event and combine a fun and entertaining event with a way to help “fund a cure”.  In order to become more effective in our fund raising efforts the not for profit organization called From Our Hearts, inc was formed   With the untimely passing of one of our founding members, Ray Jardine, our annual event has taken on a much greater significance.  He was instrumental in getting the benefit off the ground and organizing all the music, which he loved.  Whether donating time to play for local fund raising events or just helping someone in need, Ray was dedicated to the community.  He is a person that already is missed and our organization is proud to have had him as a member.  We are all about celebrating life and cheating death. The 3rd Annual Pine Island “Breast Fest” was a tribute to Ray and hopefully through our fund raising efforts we can help someone cheat death.

From Our Hearts, inc’s focus is not strictly Breast Cancer Prevention but knowing that many locals have been directly or indirectly touched by it we feel it is a cause worthy of our attention. 

While From Our Hearts, inc. is small the number of people that have offered their time and effort to make the past Breast Cancer Benefits possible was huge.  Residents of Pine Island and the surrounding areas have been very giving and it is only because of them that these events were successful.  We are dedicated to giving back to the community that has been so giving by continuing to work hard at providing fun and entertaining events that everyone can enjoy while providing help to those that could use a helping hand.
